Poetry From The Heart
Haunted by a love of years ago
recurring memories spark permits a flow.
They sting like a buzzing honey bee
why do they return to hassle me?
It was long ago, I want them to flee
unshackle a soul to set me free.
There’s no longer passion in my heart
it ended…as we agreed to depart.
His memory visits at unusual times
leaves my mind aroused to unwind.
Was this love a one of a kind…
robbing and stealing the core of my mind?
A dearest of ages ago repeats to torment my soul
haunts and forbids letting me be free and whole.
I suppose a mind tucks away fond memories
tolerates them to return frequent to tease.
Remembrances treasures we don’t like to lose
they imbed inside to tangle and confuse.
A body ages and loses its youth
why does recalls dig in to form roots?
A sweetheart once strong in a person’s soul
won’t release allowing them to become whole.
There’s no affection left in the person’s heart
why doesn’t reminiscences vanish and depart.
