I have spoken with people throughout life who have a fear of death and I like to explain to them a Christian should never have to fear death because when they’re a child of God they’re going to be with Jesus Christ in heaven for an eternity.
I believe people do not have to fear going to a place that God’s word, The Holy Bible, King James Version, and in The New Testament, John 3: 16 advises them, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
People must face death from God’s perspective which is physical death, spiritual death, or eternal death:
A person does not have to fear physical death as is explained in the Bible and in James 2: 26, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” Physical death is when the soul is separated from our physical body.
Spiritual death as is explained in the Bible and in The New Testament, Ephesians 2:1 advises us, “And you have the quickened, which were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience.”
God will not be in the presence of sin which is disobedience to him.
Spiritual death began with Adam and it continues until today when people sin against God. Spiritual death is a temporary condition; whereas eternal death is an eternal separation from God.
When a person has not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they will face death eternal on Judgment Day. Eternal death is eternal separation from God as it is explained in the Bible and in The New Testament, Revelation 21: 8 as it advises people, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
In the Bible and in the New Testament in Matthew 10:28 it advises us, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
This is why I do not fear death because I’ve received and accepted God as my Lord and Savior and I know I have life eternally waiting for me when I’m called forward. This is why I like to explain to people the importance of getting acquainted with God’s word because it does offer people a choice to have an eternal life.
