Thirteen Injured in Kano and six killed in another explosion (27/7/2014)

It all happened on 27 July 2014 as no fewer than six people lost their lives following two explosions, which happened in Kano on Sunday

The first blast, which went off at Kofar Nassarawa near the northwest university while the second explosion happened at Saint Charles on Zungeru road in Sabon Gari

According to the State Police Commissioner, Mr. Aderenle Shinaba confirmed that the incident stating that thirteen persons sustained injury while six were killed.

He stated that the attack at kofar Nassarawa State was carried out around 12:05pm by a sixteen-year-old girl suicide bomber who intended to cross over to the University.

The girl loaded herself with explosives and her target was the University, she detonated the bomb and five police officers were injured while the second blast that took off at Zungeru road was detonated within the vicinity of the church, the attack took place at 1:00pm leading to the death of five persons and eight injured persons.

The police official had arrested three suspects including a cripple at Sabon Gari while all those injured are receiving medical treatment in the hospital. Securities have been beefed up in the affected jurisdictions.
