Thomas Alva Edison and Swami Vivekananda

We all know that Edison was one of the greatest scientists of all time. He was the one who gave light to this beautiful world. Any idea what made him invent the electric bulb? He was very much scared of the darkness during the nights when he was young boy. In the USA, the electricity power supply is stopped for a minute on his birthday every year to honor him.
You all may be aware of the famous speech of Vivekananda in Chicago in the last century. When he was about to address the audience they were almost about to disburse. He began his speech addressing them, “My dear American brothers and sisters”. The audience instantly sat down and started to listen to his speech. There was a pin drop silence until he finished his long speech. The crowd was applauding for long minutes. That was the power for his speech. He was a great philosopher of India. In Chicago at the place where he delivered his popular speech, they have constructed a memorial monument with the inscription “The Light from the East”.
Edison gave light to the world and Vivekananda gave light of wisdom to humankind.
Let us salute the two great people and honor their work forever.
