Thousands of Muslim devotees had Deedar (glimpse) of holy relic

Srinagar, March 18: Srinagar, March 18 (Scoop News) – On the Friday prayers, thousands of devotees assembled at the shrines of Pir Dastgeer Sahib (RA) Khanyar as well as Saraibala where devotees had Deedar (glimpse)of holy relic.

Immediately after Friday prayers at both shrines, Deedar of Moui Paak of Dastgeer Sahib made devotees full of emotion and reverence and a spiritual atmosphere was created during the period of deedar and the shrine thronged with Darood-Azkaar.

At Saraibala, Moulvi Mohammad Shafi Qadiri, Moulana Ghulam Rasool Hami, and Chairman Dastgeer Sahib Trust Sraibala, Mehraj Ahmad Buja, were also present at the time of deedar.

As per the history, the holy relic of Pir Hazrat Dastgeer sahib (RA) was brought by Hazrat Mir Sayed Ismail Shami (RA) who met Hazrat Baba Dawud Khaki (RA) who was disciple of Hazrat Makhdoom Sahib (RA). Hazrat Dawood Khaki directed Mir Sayed Nazak to accompany Hazrat Shami (RA). Hazrat Shami brought with him holy relic and Asa Sharief of Pir Dastgeer Sahib (RA).

Later, the holy relic in 1845 was taken to Qadiri family of Saraibala, Srinagar and first deedar was held by Sayed Ahad Ullah Shah Qadiri.

Presently the deedar of holy relic is performed by Haji Shafi Ahmad Qadiri since 1972 who is the son of Pir Salam-ud-din Qadiri.
