Thousands performed Nimaz Jinaza of Sheikh Toha in Kargil
Kargil,December 05, (Scoop News)- Business and transportation remained at a halt in Kargil as Kargil observed a total shut down to mourn the sudden demise of the General Secretary Anjuman-e-Jamiyat Ullama Asna Ashriya Kargil (the Islamic Society of Kargil, ISK) Hujatul Islam Sheikh Mohammad Hussain Toha.
The late religious leader was carried to his ancestral village Baroo from Islamia School Kargil today morning in the form of mourning procession.
Around 10,000 people performed the Nimaz-e-Jinaza led by the Chairman IKMT Kargil Hujatul Islam Sheikh Mohd Hussain Lutfi, which as attended by Vice President Anjuman-e-Jamiayt Ullama Asna Ashriya Kargil Hujatul Islam Aga Syed Jamal, Members of Ullama Council Kargil ISK, Acting CEC Kargil Advocate Mohammad Amir, Executive Councilor Sheikh Mohd Hussain Raizi, MLC Kargil Aga Syed Ahmad Razvi, Ex Executive Councilors, Councilors and District Officers.
He was 70 years old, born in a religiously pious family of Akhonepa from Baroo in 1943. After his basic education, he went to Najaf Asharaf in Iraq for Islamic studies in 1964, 65 for 8 years and after returing kargil became busy in spreading Islamic Education and social work.
He was elected the General Secretary of the Pristigious Religious Organization of Ladakh Region the Huzia Ilmia Asna Ashriya (ISK) in the eighties during the period of Hujatul Islam Sheikh Mohammad Mufid as President of the ISK and later after regular interval was reelected for the post till date. He is survived by 2 daughters.
