Continuing with its special drive against bovine smuggling, Jammu Police arrested three bovine smugglers who were transporting 11 bovines in a cruel way in a truck towards Kashmir valley.
On specific information I/C PP Manwal laid a special Naka on Dhar road NHW at Manwal and intercepted a truck bearing registration no.JK03C/0863 which was on its way from Samba to Srinagar and subjected it to thorough checking. During Checking 11 cattle were found tied with ropes in the said truck in a very cruel way being smuggled to Valley. Police immediately arrested the three bovine smugglers and seized the truck and saved the animals. The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Khanday S/o Ghulam Rasool Khanday R/o Nassobada Gund Lari Zen Distt. Anantnag (Driver), Muddsair Ahmed Khar S/o Shaman Khar R/o Kharapura tehsil and District Kulgam , Mohd. Shrief S/o Mohd Yousuf,caste Gujjar R/o Gaddar galian Tehsil Bishnah and district Jammu.
In this regard a case FIR No. 01/2012 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PC Act, stands registered at P/S Jhajjar Kotli and further investigation of the case is going on.
