Srinagar, February 11, (Scoop News)-By observing complete shutdown by Kashmiris on the annual commemoration days of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat have shown their resolve and commitment to ongoing struggle, All Party Hurrriyat Conference (APHC)leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that people have once again proved that the struggle was sacred.
He said that Kashmiris have also proved that they can’t overlook their struggle just for the sake of some petty economic or some individual benefits.
Mirwaiz in a statement on Tuesday said that authorities left no stone unturned to prevent people from observing the anniversary of the two leaders. He said just for demanding the mortals remains of two leaders and paying homage to them, authorities resorted to all measures by detaining the leaders,
activists, workers and imposing restrictions across Kashmir since past three days.
“The restrictions deflated the governments claims that Kashmir was peaceful”, Mirwaiz asserted adding, economic grants and personal benefits, would in no way crush the spirit of struggle among the Kashmiri people, neither can it buy their loyalty.
He said that three day shut down observed to remember our leaders should once again serve an eye opener for Indian leadership that Kashmir issue can’t be solved by force or by economic grants. He said Kashmir issue can only be solved through political means in accordance with the wishes of people.
