A good character is not built overnight. It is made good and strong by many repeated acts. Character should not be confused with reputation. Character is like a tree and reputation is like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it but the tree is the real object. You cannot have a good character just by dreaming about one. It cannot be changed as frequently as you change your clothes. By repeated acts of goodness we have to carve a good character.
- Atmosphere at home: – the mutual love and affection that all the members of a family have for each other make the home the most important factor in the education of children. It is the duty of the parents to see that their children are healthy in body as well as in mind. Parents should neither be too harsh nor too soft on their children. At the beginning itself, faults should be identified are rectified.
Children on the other hand should love, respect and obey their parents. They should rude and should try to make everybody as happy as possible.
- Atmosphere in school: – at the outset it should be clarified that the school can do little if the home education is missing due to serious disorders in the family life. However, the school should try to do its best to important noble ideas to children, and to help them in building their character in the best possible manner. The children in the best possible manner. - Personal contribution:- home education is useless and school education is of no value if the child does not realize the important of working for one’s own improvement. There must be some kind of personal contribution and personal endeavor to work towards the betterment of one’s character.
A character praised by all is as precious as a voluble gem. The goodness of it transcends all barriers, appeals to all and brings true happiness to the person.
