Three Test pilots die in trainer plane crash

India – Bangalore: On Friday a prototype Saras crashed with three Indian Air Force officers on board at Bidadi near Bangalore, while on a test flight.

The Saras is the first Indian multi-purpose civilian aircraft in the Light Transport Aircraft category designed by the National Aerospace Laboratory.
 
The police officer said a small aircraft crashed in Bidadi near Bangalore, three of the test pilots died. Saras aircraft crashed in an open area at Sheshagirihalli at around 1545 hrs IST and caught fire. He added the aircraft was completely destroyed in the blaze. Three charred bodies were retrieved from the wreckage.
