Time has come to fight against discrimination carried out due to Kashmir-centric approach: BJP

Jammu, August 30 ( Vijay Kumar) – BJP State Spokesperson Ramesh Arora opn Sunday said now time has come to fight against discrimination carried out

due to Kashmir-centric approach since 1947 onwards, after the accession and change of seat of power from Jammu to Kashmir.

Addressing media persons today, Ramsh Arora said,”we fail to understand why students are stopped inside college/University campus every day by use of force. Is it not a murder of democracy?” He said in democracy, every one has right of expression, procession and protest in a peaceful manner.

BJP spokesperson said there are contradictions and confusion over the setting up of Central University. Different leaders have taken different stands on the issue. While, Omar Abdullah wants to get two universities, Ajay Sadotra of his party wants to create two campus. Dy. Chief Minister Tara Chand assures Jammu people that Jammu will get CU. Raman Bhalla say Jammu and Kashmir both will get CUs but the decision for Jammu is not changed.

He said in assembly in reply to a question it was stated that centre has yet to decide the place of setting up of University. Some leaders say that three places at Srinagar and three at Jammu were identified. Prime Minister of India had cleared that Central University will be for Jammu and IIM for Srinagar. Madan Lal Sharma, Congress MP, took specific stand that there is no change of decision to Open University at Jammu. This all shows that presence of government is not felt. They are confused rather wants to create confusion and wedge between two regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP has staged more than five times walkouts over this issue in assembly. Even  stagged protests outside assembly hall. BJP is committed to support the demand to establishing university at Jammu.

He questioned,”Why benefits are given to Muslims on the name of minorities, whether they are in minority in the state? why this communal approach is adopted by the state government? Why doctors and other staff is being appointed under consolidated pay in Jammu? Why regular appointment is not done? Why 6th Pay Commission recommendations are not implemented in this state? Why policy is not framed to delimit the constituencies and difference between 37 and 46 assembly seats is ended forever, which is the symbol of discrimination. Why Jammu and Ladakh should not get constitutional guarantee and right to make decision for their development and their own recruitment?”

Ramesh Arora said that no more matter can be kept hanging and people of Jammu should join hands. Jammu will strike back and have to do it at all costs.

BJP spokesperson said that the party committed for ending discrimination and that democracy can survive only if right of involvement remains intact in decision making process, which is lacking in our state. Lets join hands to end slavery and 2nd class treatment forever.
