Jammu, January 22 (Scoop News) –BJP Chief Spokesperson & National Executive Member Dr. Jitendra Singh today said that “Rashtriya Ekta Rally” has been undertaken with a very clear motive of national unity and in honour of national symbol, the tricolour. He said to carry, hoist or salute tricolour is not a sin and any one who respects tricolour is not indulging in any seditious activity. There is no restriction to hoist national flag and there is no fixed venue for the purpose.
In a statement Dr. Jitendra said according to the Indian Constitution, the President, the Constitution itself and the national flag are the symbols of Indian Republic and the state Chief Minister as well as ministers, who are oath of the same Constitution, should welcome the flag hoisting instead of opposing it for appeasement.
Dr. Singh said that any Indian, who respects the national symbols will never oppose the hoisting of tricolour. It is only a handful of people who are making utterances opposing it under compulsions. It has become a matter of routine for such people to make utterances regularly in order to remain in news as also in good books of their masters. Unfortunately the administration has shown a tendency to take large sections of nationalist people for granted simply to appease a handful of separatists.
Reacting to statements of separatist leaders from valley and failure of the NC-Congress coalition to curb their provocative utterances, he said that it is due to the soft approach of the present government towards these elements which has encouraged them to make such utterances that carry potential to create law and order problem.
Dr. Jitendra said that after the commencement of “Rashtriya Ekta Rally” by BJYM, it has been seen that there is a mutual race among the leaders of ruling coalition and the separatists to show as to who takes lead in painting yatra as a provocation for law and order problem in the state.
He said that the BJP and its Youth wing -BJYM- have time and again declared that the “Rashtriya Ekta Yatra” will be totally peaceful and conducted in a non-violent manner.
After its commencement on January 12 from Kolkata, it has travelled through a number of states and at every place, people have received it with open heart and enthusiasm. Not even a single case of any law and order problem or disturbance has been witnessed. It is only the leaders in Jammu & Kashmir who have made it an issue and are creating confusion in the minds of the common citizens.
Dr. Jitendra appealed to the people of state not to be misled by malicious propaganda against the “Rashtriya Ekta Yatra” and instead welcome it with patriotic fervour.
