Top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander among two militants and lady associate killed in Doda in J&K

 

Jammu, April, 18 – Two militants, including a self-styled commander of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit , and a lady associate were killed by Police and Security Forces in the mountainous district of Doda on Saturday
           Police spokesman said that after developing information, Doda Police and Special Striking Reserve in  association with 8 RR launched a joint search operation in Baggla area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Doda   . The troops asked the hiding terrorists to surrender who instead opened fire which triggered gunfight resulting in killing of two dreaded militantsand serious injuries to their lady associate. She was rushed to District Hospital Doda where she succumbed to her injuries .The  slain terrorist were identified  as Nissar Ahmed Malik alias Shabaz,  r/o Bharat a self-styled battalion commander of LeT, and Rafiq Gujjar alias Kuber r/o Keshwan, while as the lady associate has been identified as  Zahida Bano d/o Ab. Samad (21 years) .

 

Two AK-47 rifles, which were taken away by a deserter jawan of 159 Territorial (H&H) battalion Zaffarullah Parrey on March 8 , 2009 , were recovered from the site of encounter. Moreover, 3 Magazine of AK 47 , one Pouch , one HE-36 Grenade and one Mobile charger were also  recovered from the possession of slain terrorists.

The killing of these terrorists is a great success to the Police forces and security forces, as it will give a severe blow to the outfit in the area.

 The whole operation was carried out jointly by the Police and Army.

Inspector General of Police Jammu, Mr. K.Rajendra Kumar has complimented the Police/Army teams which jointly planned and executed the operation meticulously and said that such sustained and surgical Anti-Terrorist Operations would continue to be launched throughout Jammu Zone to defeat the nefarious designs of Anti-National elements.
