Morrow will be replace second baseman Brett Lawrie who will be placed on the 60 day disabled list with an injury to his oblique area. Lawrie has not played baseball with the Blue Jays since August 7 2014. The Blue Jays have decided to place Lawrie on the shelf for the remainder of the current baseball season.

Morrow has not pitched for the Blue Jays in the 2014 regular season since he suffered an injury to his right finger on May 2 2014. Morrow will be a free agent at the end of the 2014 Major League Baseball season.
