The second year of the Tour of Missouri bicycle race kicks off on monday a week of racing that will take professional cyclists all across the state.
The first stage in the Tour of Missouri will take the athletes on a 90 mile course from St. Joseph to Kansas City and gets underway at 12:30 p.m. CST. There are seven stages in all, culminating in a 75 mile race around St. Louis on Sunday, September 14. Over the seven days of racing, athletes will log 623 miles aboard their bikes.
There are 120 cyclists representing 15 different teams participating in the Tour of Missouri. Last year’s winner, George Hincapie is in the field and will wear the bib number 1.
