Traders demanded for separate by pass road not to expand the present road.
CHITRAL: Trade Union Chitral held an emergency meeting under the chair of Haji Habib Hussain Mughal president of Trade Union Chitral. The traders also held a token peace walk to register their protest and plea for not demolishing their shops to jobless thousands of shopkeepers. They also passed a unanimous resolution. Through a resolution they thanked provincial chief minister for allocation of fund for Abdul Wali Khan By pass road. They said a separate road was constructed for by pass road from Chew bridge to Ataleeq bridge in phase one. But in phase two the C &W (Communication & works) department extends the present road instead of an alternate road. They said that space already available for separate by pass road and by pass road means to provide a alternate route to citizen. They said that there is less job opportunities and majority of Chitral people facing lack of resources and they depend only on small business and earning their livelihood from these shops. They said that in case of constructing separate route for by pass road some 2000 more shops would be built as a result more people could be accommodate to support their poor families. They said that no shop was demolished on road side for by pass road in Malakand division and they built a separate road but only in Chitral the C&W department demolishing 250 shops to extend the present road instead of a separate way. They said that by pass road is constructing to minimize traffic rush on present route but if the present road was extended the problem will be remain the same.
Through a unanimous resolution the members of trade union Chitral demanded from the provincial Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti to direct the C&W department Chitral to not demolish hundred of shops to extend the present road but to built a separate route for by pass road. The traders warned that if their genuine plea was not accepted and an alternate route was not constructed for by pass road and if their shops were demolished for extending the road they will be compelled to come on roads. The traders also warned that they will never hesitate from any sacrifice for their genuine right and will continue their campaign until fulfillment of their demand. Later on they also held a peaceful walk as a token to register their protest and disbursed peacefully.
