"Traffic jams on age old Khushahl Garh railroad bridge built on Indus river
by British colonial rulers located on Kohat Pindi road can result into its
collapse, few years ago traffic from one side of the bridge was stopped to
avoid crossings and traffic jams on bridge, but now no such precautionary measures
are taken, huge containers of oil and trucks loaded with goods are get stuck
in traffic jam over the bridge, at occasions when bridge is filled with
vehicles railcar also reach over it, on one such occasion I by myself was stuck in traffic jam on the bridge, when railcar had also reached over it, due to heavy load the bridge started trembling the risk of its collapse is increasing day by day, either a new bridge shall be built or
traffic shall be stopped from one side of the bridge to avoid any untoward
incident," a public transport vehicle driver has said.
