PESHAWAR: Two refugees from across the border in Afghanistan have been picked up for questioning in the Pakistan mosque suicide attack that killed 56 people, security officials said on Sunday.
They said the men, one of them a student at an Islamic school or madrassa as well as being a local prayer leader, were held in addition to the "several" suspects detained earlier in connection with Friday’s attack.
Civilian and military investigators are hunting for clues in the suicide bombing, which targetted a former minister of President Pervez Musharraf who helped lead a government crackdown on Islamic militants.
Suicide attacks, once rare in Pakistan, have now become a common occurrence. There have been more than 40 in the country this year.
