Jammu, January 13, (Scoop News)-Two day long Lohri Festival concluded with lightening of traditional fire by Commissioner Secretary Tourism Shailender Kumar at Raghunath Bazar Chowk, here today.
The festival was organized by the Tourism Department in collaboration with various Business Associations to showcase the unique and rich cultural heritage of Jammu and to promote cultural tourism in the State.
The heritage Raghunath Bazar wore a festive look with ethnic food stalls, cultural show, dandia and beautiful illumination.
In the evening, a procession was flagged off from Sabzi Mandi Parade Chowk and the procession culminated at Raghunath Bazar. The main attractions of the procession were Dhol, Narsingha, Chajja, Haran, and Kudd dance, besides recitation of Sanskrit Hymns by scholars from Sanskrit Vidyalaya.
At Raghunath Bazar chowk, artists presented short skits depicting the traditional Lohri festival, which is celebrated to bid good bye to the cold season.
