On February 14, 2014 the Pentagon announced the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
According to the release:

“They died Feb. 12, in Kapisa Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when they were struck by enemy small arms fire.

Killed were:

Spc. John A. Pelham, 22, of Portland, Ore., and Sgt. First Class Roberto C. Skelt, 41, of York, Fla.

Pelham and Skelt were assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.

According to one independent report the two soldiers were shot to death by men wearing Afghan military uniforms – which would classify it as a “insider attack.”

A gloating Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed  responsible for the killings (source: Two Soldiers killed in insider attackhttp://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5gqqav4svc_cW0lzRtFhWzK-CI_pw?docId=a8958b4f-4aae-40ce-b0f0-3551d108fbc0&hl=en).

When we tried to confirm that the Pentagon refused to categorize the murders in that way. But AFP sources stand by their report in this case.
