Lahore: Following the army operation against Taliban in Pakistan, in two suicide attacks at two mosques in the cities Lahore and Nowshehra Cant 9 persons killed and more than 100 injured including a famous anti Taliban religious scholar Dr. Sarfaraz Naeemi.
Security is at high alert, and additional forces have been called in the city.
Maulana Sarfraz Naeemi was killed in the suicide bomb attack in Lahore, after the Jumma (Friday) Prayer when he was sitting in his office adjacent to the Mosque with some of his fellows. Mr. Naeemi was nationally recognised for being critical of the Taliban. In a separate incident in a very sensitive army area Nowshehra cantt a vehicle loaded-explosive hit the mosque when the Friday prayer was in process.
Police chief Abdullah Khan said the second bomb had killed five persons including three security persons and wounded 32 people. After the blast in Lahore students have been flared up and protesting against the government and to avoid any mishap ranger has been called in the city. After these two incidents a high level of security measure has been taken throughout in the country.
