UK tightens VISA norms for India and non-EU countries professionals seeking employment in UK due to rising unemployment for locals. Tier 1 category of the points-based immigration system will be raised from April. Required qualification will be raised to Master’s degree and the minimum salaray level will be 20,000 pounds. The major change will come under Tier 1 of the points based system which offers access to Britain’s labour markets to highly skilled individuals. Only those industries officially recognised as having a skills shortage wiil be able to recurit from outside the EU. This restriction seems inevitable considering the unemployment problems for the locals.
