In his presidential remarks, Mufti Azam J&K, Moulana Mufti Mohammad Bashir-ud-Din Ahmad, said that Islam teaches us to respect and give regard to every religion and to live in peace and brotherhood with every human being irrespective of religion, caste, creed and colour. He expressed his concern over the increasing trend of Fascism, wrong attitude of living and, the tilt towards becoming drug addicts, ignoring thereby the Islamic and social values of living which has not only ruined our young generation but has spoiled their future prospects also.
Mufti Azam asserted that the need of the hour is to extend all our joint efforts to curb the prevailing trend of living in order to ensure that the future of our young generation is bright and prosperous. He emphasized the need for giving education to every individual saying our Holy Prophet Mohammad (SAW) has stressed hard for achieving the goal of education by everyone. In this regard Mufti Azam said that the unrest experienced by the State during the last year has badly affected our educational system, but, it is because of the timely and positive steps taken by the State Government that the Educational system has been saved from going into a deteriorated situation.
Welcoming the decision taken by the State Government for the establishment of three more Universities in the State as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of the State, Mufti Azam expressed his firm hope that for the establishment of one more university titled Shahi-Hamdan University, to which effect a bill is being introduced during the current budget session, will get approval of the State Legislative Assembly in order to show their regard and respect to the wishes and aspirations of the people of the State.
Mufti Azam also welcomed the urge of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to eradicate the menace of corruption from the state administration. He said Quran shows a road map to every aspect in life and therefore there is no room of considering any kind of making any change or amendment in these laws.
