JAMMU & Kashmir: Jammu and Kashmir United Forum of Central State Public Sector Trade Union, today extended its full support to the three days state vide strike call given by JCC on May 24 to May 26 in support of its demand against non-implementation of an agreement signed by its leaders with the state government. Union president Ashwani Pradhan while addressing a press conference said, “However, it is unfortunate that the state government has not implemented its agreement which has fallen on the deaf ears of the government leaving no option but to call for three days strike of Secretariat Ghero on May 25 and march to Raj Bhawan on May 26 in Srinagar.”
Pradhan further said, “Government has not only addressed the demand but also resorted to ruthless repression on the struggling employees by use of police force. It is undemocratic act of the government is highly condemned. United forum of trade union is the mouth organ of approximately 5 lacs employees and workers with one voice asked the government to stop use all repressive measure which can lead to serious repercussion and called upon the chief minister to settle the all issues forthwith with to avoid direct confrontation on the issues.”
The Union also demanded to reinstate the Home Guard employees immediately and withdrawal of termination orders forthwith whereas some officials police department are pressurizing them to withdraw their activities for their rights which is highly condemnable. The forum warned the state government to desist from provoking the state employees to go on strikes. If government fails to address the genuine demands of the striking employees, otherwise the forum would launch agitation against the government. Those who were present on the occasion included Balkar Singh, Dr. Ghashyam Singh Charak, Arun Kumar Gupta, Dalip Kaul and comrade NK Dogra.
