University Campus at Chitral

CHITRAL: Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan in a meeting with vice chancellor of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Professor Dr. Ihsan Ali Khan offered building for campus of AWK University Campus at Chitral.  Talking to APP on telephone from Mardan he said that at present there would be only a few departments of Chitral Campus for computer sciences, Management Sciences, Archeology, Education will kick immediately and later on it will be extended our departments. In this connection a high level meeting was held at the office of Vice Chancellor AWK University Mardan, which was attended by Professor Dr. Ihsan Ali Khan, Sartaj Ahmad khan, Deputy Registrar Tariq Mahmood, provincial president of Chitral Students Welfare Association Iqbal Murtaza and high officials of the university. Sartaj Ahmad Khan raised some issues  and hurdles in the way of education to Chitral students in his briefing.

He said that hundred of male and female students were deprived from education this year  due to tense situation in the Malakand Division where most of the educational institutions remained closed because of ongoing operation against militants. He paid rich tribute to great Puktoon leader Abdul Wali Khan and declared him a leader of the nation. He said that he was our national hero and we pride upon him, and like his leadership this university should to facilitates and impart education in the whole province. He declared so many government and semi government buildings including his office and guesthouse suitable place for this campus. So as to announced and launched Chitral Campus immediately. Talking on the occasion Vice Chancellor said that mission of Governor NWFP Owais Ahmad Khan Ghani and Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti will be complete regarding increasing high education in the province by this plan. As well as deprive nesses of  Chitral students for getting education will be addressed. He hoped that this plan will be practically exercised with provincial government counseling and approval.
