Uruguayan Clausura- Week 8

Left with 10 players late in the match, Peñarol were able to gut out an emotional win against Danubio at the Centenario in Montevideo.  Former Juventus super-sub Ruben Olivera scored his first goal with the Carbonero late in the second half equalizing after the eternal Carlos María Morales opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the opening minutes of the second half. Antonio Pacheco then scored the game-winner in injury time and lifted Peñarol to share the top spot along with the revelation side of the tournament River Plate.

Carrasco’s men will play against a tough Miramar Misiones side on the road, while Nacional will play cellar-dwellers Rampla Juniors who are coming off a huge win against Colonel Bolognesi in Copa Libertadores play midweek.
