Sources in the US military have confirmed the capture of a key senior Iraqi militant and the killing of two others in a raid in Diyala, a central province in Iraq. The men are believed to be loyal supporters of the radical Shia cleric Moqtada Al Sadr. The captured un-named militant is also believed to have close ties with Irananian Intelligence services. He is allegedly involved in a spate of roadside bomb attacks and kidnappings on the US coalition forces. "We continue to support the government of Iraq in welcoming the commitment by Moqtada Sadr to stop attacks and we will continue to show restraint in dealing with those who honour his pledge," US military spokesman Major Winfield Danielson earlier had said.
