CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – US will pull its troops from Iraq by the August 31, 2010, a senior official said.
The US President, Barrack Obama is going to fulfill the defining promise of his campaign, saying all US troops will be withdrawn from Iraq by August 2010.
And even after the drawdown, some 35, 000 to 50, 000 US troops will stay in Iraq, for the training, civilian protection and counterterrorism.
Most of the American consider the Iraq war a costly and divisive and it killed more than 4, 250 American troops.
Moreover, Obama applauded the US military’s role in an improved security situation Iraq where the violence is down significantly and US military’s deaths plunged.
He also added that the end of war in Iraq will enable a new era of American leadership and engagement in the Middle East.
