In southern California desert a US air force fighter plane F-22 has crashed on a test mission and kills the expert pilot. The reason for this crash is unclear, investigation is on the way.
The world’s most sophisticated fighter jet F-22 was on a test mission near Edwards Air Force Base. Initially the pilot was reported as missing later confirmed he had been killed.
The US air force said the F-22 Raptor has "better reliability and maintainability than any fighter aircraft in history", and this is the second involving an F-22. In the previous crash the pilot ejected safely during the aircraft’s test period in December 2004. The US government is permitted to buy 183 F-22 Fighters.
