US House of Representatives votes in favor of providing arms and weapons to Ukrainian military

Ukrainian soldier in rebel controlled territory in 2015. The US House of Representatives vote din favor of providing arms and weapons to Ukraine.

On March 23, 2015 the Members of the United States House of Representatives voted in favor of a motion to provide arms and weapons to the Ukrainian military.

The following is a record of the vote:

The SPEAKER pro tempore. The unfinished business is the vote on the motion to suspend the rules and agree to the resolution (H. Res. 162) calling on the President to provide Ukraine with military assistance to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, on which the yeas and nays were ordered.

The Clerk read the title of the resolution.

The SPEAKER pro tempore. The question is on the motion offered by the gentlewoman from Florida (Ms. Ros-Lehtinen) that the House suspend the rules and agree to the resolution.

This is a 5-minute vote.

The vote was taken by electronic device, and there were–yeas 348, nays 48, not voting 36

So (two-thirds being in the affirmative) the rules were suspended and the resolution was agreed to.

The result of the vote was announced as above recorded.

A motion to reconsider was laid on the table.”
