The United States military is playing a very deadly serious game with the Chinese – one that could easily explode into a major international incident.
On Tuesday, November 26, 2013 two U.S. B-52 bombers intentionally violated Chinese air space in a so called “training mission.”
Why is this a big deal? The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is a long-range, subsonic, jet powered strategic bomber, capable of carrying nuclear weapons – that’s why!
The B-52 was designed and built by Boeing , which has continued to provide support and upgrades to the design over time. The bomber is capable of carrying in excess of 70,000 pounds (32,000 kg) of weapons. Which is huge!
The bomber has the ability to carry up to 20 AGM-69 STRAM nuclear missiles was added to G and H models, starting in 1971, according to the manufacture and the US Department of Defense.

These planes also have the capacity to carry upwards to 12 missiles on underwing pylons ,some have been additionally modified to carry another eight missiles on a rotary launcher fitted in the aircraft’s bomb-bay.
Such aircraft are capable of causing wide spread destruction over a very large area (see Youtube video: b-52 carpet bombing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGLgZ8htLI4 and see B-52’s dropping 2000 pound bombs in Afghanistan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IcvjD4VVjY).
“These planes serve only one purpose to bomb targets”, said resident military expert D. Smith of Phoenix – who said that “the US is playing a very serious and deadly game with the Chinese on this one.”
“As a Chinese military officer you have know that these are strategic bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons. You can’t misconstrue the possible intentions of bombers flying along your coastline – as they are designed to do only one thing bomb people. What is amazing to me is why the Chinese didn’t immediately engage those aircraft invading its Air Defense Zone and shoot them down. The United States is really pushing it on this one- I think.”
Who can disagree. China is the world’s leading military superpower. It’s a country you don’t want to mess with.

The Chinese have the world’s largest military force, with a strength of approximately 2,250,000 personnel (about 0.18% of the country’s population).

The mission clearly underscores Washington’s immediate rejection of Beijing’s new rules, even to the point of risking a military conflict which is , not only very reckless and foolhardy but extremely dangerous as well.
At one point the Pentagon even “bragged” about the fact that it knowingly violating Chinese air space in press releases to various news agencies including the Washington Post – a once well respected newspaper in America noted for its fair reporting on issues (source: US Flies to war planes over East China Sea http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/us-flies-two-warplanes-over-east-china-sea-ignoring-new-chinese-air-defense-zone/2013/11/26/0510eee2-56bf-11e3-835d-e7173847c7cc_story.html).
The U.S., which has literally thousands of military aircraft based in the region, has said it has “zero intention” of complying with Chinese rules in this matter, according to one report in Al-Jazzera (source: US B-52 bombers fly over newly declared Chinese airspace http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2013/11/26/u-s-b-52-bombersflyovernewlydeclaredchineseairspace.html). Which is complete arrogance!
For their part the Chinese have not responded to this provocation on the part of the US military, other than to say it can assert control over its airspace.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the Chinese military went on “alert” during the fly by – which is very serious!
Defense Ministry spokesman Geng Yansheng did indicate that China had “monitored” the U.S. flight late Tuesday over the eastern edge of the zone.
“The Chinese military conducted surveillance during the whole course, identified and ascertained the type of the US jets in time,” Geng said. Adding that “China has the ability to take efficient control of the relevant air space” (source: China Gives Muted Reaction to B-52 flights http://www.military.com/daily-news/2013/11/27/china-gives-muted-reaction-to-b52-flight-in-air-zone.html?comp=700001075741&rank=4).
