Democratic Senator John Edwards, in an interview for broadcast on Nightline, admitted that he had an extra-marital affair with 44-year old Rielle Hunter, a novice filmmaker.
Talking to Bob Woodruff an ABC News correspondent, Edwards was quoted as saying:
“He did have an affair with Rielle Hunter, but he did not love her.”
Though earlier in an interview to the National Enquirer, Edwards had backed out of his any kind of relationship with her during his Presidential campaign.
The affair was cooked up during 2006, while Edwards met with Rielle Hunter in a New York City bar. His political action committee contracted her to create website material for $114k, regardless of her lack of experience.
Not just that an earlier campaign aide also revealed that a child birthed by Hunter in 2008, indeed belonged to Edwards. Even that is also denied by Edwards, based on the time of which the affair happened.
Edwards is also reported to be denying to pay Hunter to keep his mouth shut..
