“Both Congress and National Conference are working in tandem to transform the State’s socio– economic and political scenario for permanent peace and prosperity”, he said and underlined the need for further strengthening the ties between the two parties to achieve the cherished goal of Khushaal Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing party workers convention at Ganderbal, today Vakil asked the workers to play their role in the faster development and peace restoration in the State.
Welcoming the army for launching recruitment drive in the State, Vakil said the enthusiasm of youth to join army and serve the country should be encouraged by recruiting more and more youth in the forces from the State. He asked the State Government to take up the matter of recruiting Jammu & Kashmir youth in various wings of the army and Para-Military forces on large scale to help address the unemployment
crisis.
Vakil stressed on recruitment rallies of Jammu & Kashmir Police in far-flung and backward areas too to provide opportunities to the youth of these areas for taking their career as Police personnel and officers. He said that awareness among youth regarding the SKEWPY and other employment generating programmes is imperative to persuade the young persons to start independent livelihood earning units.
The former Minister highlighted the importance of dialogue for resolution of all issues across the table and termed the interlocutors engagement with different shades of opinion as a significant initiative of the Centre Government led by Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi. He said that Congress leadership is keen to see Jammu & Kashmir on road to progress and prosperity and always extended financial and logistic support to the state in fast tracking development programme.
He said that massive public service infrastructural development launched in the State during the tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad as Chief Minister with the Central assistance is being carried forward by the present dispensation with introduction of new initiatives and new schemes along with consolidation.
He expressed the hope that next four years of the coalition Government will revolutionize the State’s development scenario and pave for permanent peace and stability in the State.
Vakil called for large scale participation in coming panchayat elections to strengthen the democratic institutions at grasroot level and give necessary flip to the rural development in a comprehensive and holistic manner.
