Rafiabad/Srinagar, November 21(Scoop News)-Member AICC and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today appealed party high command not to surrender any Parliament seat in Kashmir Valley or Ladakh region and said that no doubt it is the prerogative of the high command to accord sanction to the poll alliance with any particular party for national and political interests but at the same time Congress can’t afford to surrender its representation and participation to any alliance partner in the ensuing Parliament Elections in the name or for the sake of alliance because as such moves in past have proven counter productive and nothing could be achieved by the party expect eroding and weakening its base in these regions.
The people of the state prudently think and endorse Congress Party as India here and an act of surrendering party’s representation in Parliament election will be a historical blunder and a step towards demoralizing the party rank and file. He said that it is very important and inevitable for the party to maintain its political existence without compromise with zeal and zest and any move to surrender all seats will be in every respect detrimental and disastrous for the party.
The former Minister maintained that it is equivalent to weaken India in the J&K State if our party decides to surrender all the seats in valley in name of alliance if forged with any party. He said that Congress at present enjoys support of masses and due to it party is capable to fight elections all alone and party’s developmental slogan will help it to emerge as a formidable winner.
Vakil asked party cadres to gear up for the Assembly and Parliament elections and work hard to ensure success of the congress party.
Vakil, while addressing public meetings at Drusoo and Nadihal Rafiabad in District Baramulla stressed upon the youth to come forward and fight menace of corruption at their own level also because it affects the society on whole. Referring to the shameful BOPEE scandal, AICC member castigated Government’s ineptness and insensitivity for encouraging corrupt practices.
He said rather punishing the dishonest and corrupt and showing them door such elements were either given prized postings or granted extensions in a routine way. Vakil said due to unabated corruption and nepotism prevailing in the system not only the credibility of the Government is at the stake but faith of the people in its institutions is drastically eroding day by day.
