Various writers were honoured with Awards in Kashmir

          Srinagar, May 20 (Scoop News)- Chief Minister,  Omar Abdullah, who is also President of Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Academy, today gave away awards at the 45th Best Book awards presentation ceremony at SKICC here organized by the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.

          The writers which received awards included Tarnum Reyaz for Mera Rakht Safar (Urdu), Farooq Fayaz for Kashmiri Folk Lore (English), Vaid Rahi for Lal Ded (Dogri), Amin Kamil for Yimieoni Sukhan (Kashmiri), Jan Mohammad Hakim for Jan-e-Gajal (Gojri), Tersing Chospal for Sharsems Kyi Melong (Ladakhi), Sham Bihari for Main Samandar Hoa Saksata Tha (Hindi), Sabar Mirza for Rang Rutan Gulzar (Pahari) and Harbajan Singh Sagar for Band Darwaza Da Bartan (Punjabi).

          The Chief Minister also released various books published by Cultural Academy in various languages and on different subjects.

          Earlier, Secretary, Cultural Academy,  Zafar Iqbal in his welcome address gave details of the activities of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.

          The Minister for R&B,  G.M. Saroori, Advisors to Chief Minister,  Mubarak Gul,  Devender Singh Rana, Commissioner/Secretary, Culture,  Atal Duloo, Vice Chancellors of Kashmir University and Central University, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and others were present on the occasion besides great no of literature lovers.
