Veritas Prep, a leading GMAT preparation and graduate school admissions consulting services provider, today announced that it is offering a free online seminar to help prospective MBA students effectively prepare for the next generation of the GMAT. The instructional webinar will give test takers strategies to succeed on the new Integrated Reasoning section, which is being added to the exam in June. The webinar will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at 6 p.m. PDT.
The forthcoming 30-minute Integrated Reasoning section will replace one of the Analytical Writing Assessment essays and will require test takers to generate solutions as well as select correct answers in order to assess their abilities to combine details and information from multiple sources to solve problems.
“A lot of GMAT students fear the new Integrated Reasoning section of the GMAT and worry the exam will be much harder come June,” said Brian Galvin, Director of Academic Programs at Veritas Prep. “While it will be a little different, it shouldn’t be markedly more difficult. If you have properly prepared for the GMAT, then there is nothing on the new section that should throw you off your game on test day.”
Galvin will lead the webinar and provide tips and strategies, like relative math and sort-and-scan, to help participants solve the questions likely to be seen in the Integrated Reasoning section.
The free one-hour webinar will focus on how to:
· Navigate the GMAT’s sortable charts to make quick decisions
· Read and understand common Integrated Reasoning graphic types
· Minimize wasted time spent on data-driven problems by prioritizing
· Leverage question stems and maximize logic
· Efficiently use relative math to avoid unnecessary calculations
In addition to the webinar, Veritas Prep has also made other resources available, including four types of Integrated Reasoning GMAT sample questions (table analysis, graphics interpretation, multi-source reasoning and two-part analysis) and answers to frequently asked questions, to help prospective MBA students prepare for the new Integrated Reasoning section.
