New Delhi, February 14, (Scoop News)- The Delhi Union of Journalists (DUJ) expresses deep grief and shock at the death of veteran journalist and All India Newspaper Employees Federation (AINEF) President Subodh Bose. Bose died last night at Kolkata. He was aged 84.
Subodh Bose entered the world of journalism in the 1950s and since the sixties was actively associated with the AINEF. He was the President of the West Bengal Newspaper Employees Federation and ‘Jugantar’ Employees Union for decades. He was elected as the secretary and vice-president before he was elected as the President of the AINEF. He was one of the builders of the AINEF along with Com. S.Y. Kolhatkar, K.L.Kapur, Madan Phadnis, K. Ramamurthy, Santosh Kumar and other well-known trade union leaders.
Bose was active in a number of social organisations as well, including the Student Health Home at Kolkata.
In Delhi, leaders of the AINEF, the Confederation of Newspaper and News Agencies Employees Union and DUJ office functionaries will be holding a condolence meeting on Monday, February 16, 2015, 3.00 p.m. at the DUJ office.
The DUJ sends its heartfelt condolences to his entire family.
