Kiwis unchanged for second test
New Zealand have selected an unchanged squad for the second Test with India starting on Thursday, despite losing the first match by 10 wickets.
The only minor change was the omission of fast bowler Brent Arnel, who was in a 13-man squad for the first Test, but injured himself in domestic cricket.
Iain O’Brien and Daniel Flynn had minor injuries in the first Test but are expected to be available for selection.
All-rounder Jacob Oram may come into contention for the third Test.
The final Test of the three-match Test series begins on 3 April and New Zealand are wary of rushing Oram back before then.
"He’s only had a couple of days in the domestic competition," head of the selection panel Glenn Turner explained.
"After talking with him we agree he’d benefit from more game time to get up to the fitness level needed for the Test side."
New Zealand squad:
Daniel Vettori (captain), Daniel Flynn, James Franklin, Martin Guptill, Tim McIntosh, Brendon McCullum (wk), Chris Martin, Kyle Mills, Iain O’Brien, Jeetan Patel, Jesse Ryder, Ross Taylor.
