Former Vice President Richard Bruce "Dick" Cheney was hospitalized today with chest pains at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC.
Dick Cheney is 69 years old and served as Vice President from 2001 to 20098 under President George W. Bush.
It appears The Daily Herald first broke the story, in an article headlined, "Liz Cheney cancels Schaumburg appearance due to father’s illness."
NBC also reported that "Doctors at George Washington University Hospital say Dick Cheney is stable; former VP had an angiogram, may have treatment tomorrow," according to their Twitter account BreakingNews.
NBC’s Desk Assignment Editor Ryan Ruggiero was among the first outlets to report the news via Twitter.
