Video: Nepal in Turmoil after Recovery of Kidnapped Youths’ Bodies

Kathmandu

November 27: The city area of Kathmandu remained violent and chaotic from the early morning following the agitation of general public in reaction to the unknown killings of the two 15 year old minors from Tahachal.

The conditions worsen when the government failed to address the issue after the police recovered two dead bodies from the jungle of Thankot on Wednesday November 26. The boys went missing 12 days ago, who were confirmed as Ritesh Rauniyar and Ashish Manandhar.

The whole area of Kalimati, Kalanki, New Road and other hub centers faced the agitation from early morning when the agitators confronted the locals to forcefully close the area. Moreover, vehicular and traffic movement was completed halted in the region where the students and locals chanted anti government slogans. The agitators burnt tires and vandalized numbers of vehicles.

According to agitator Ram Shrestha, protesting at Kalimati, “The government is responsible for this, as it is their responsibility to provide security and peace. Since, they failed to facilitate the condition or situation, they should all resign."

He continued, "The trend of abduction and killing has gone up drastically to the point where a normal person fears bringing his children out into the streets. We don’t feel the sense of security and credibility from the government. If the situation persists then every Nepali will be bound to take it out into streets and then they will know what the peoples’ power is!”
