What on Earth were they thinking? Faking the death of Vince McMahon? A storyline that includes his death? Are they crazy? Usually, a storyline like that would be a great attention getter, but doing it a week after Sensational Sherri died? To make matters worse, a few day’s later, Chris Benoit kills his family and commits suicide, not a good time for a storyline like that.
To me it seems like the WWE was in desperate need of ratings so they concocted this whole "Vince is dead" act to get some attention. Only it got bad publicity because of the recent deaths of former WWE superstar’s. Most recently Bryan "Crush" Adams. In my opinion, they should be very ashamed of themselves for having that storyline because it sort of disrespects the recently deceased greats of the business like Eddie Guerrero, Sherri Martel, Andre the Giant, Ravishing Rick Rude, Curt Hennig and so much others.
Honestly, I never thought they would ever do a stunt like this. I don’t think anyone really believes it or takes it seriously. It was just a very bad storyline. In fact, a few day’s later, the WWE started selling T-shirts that read "I killed Vince" and other similar messages.
So really, in the end it was a no good storyline that should have never have gotten started. Good luck, WWE. Maybe in the future, you guys can stick to regular storylines.
