In Phoenix,Arizona I had a chance recently to sit down with an old friend who happens to be a Roman Catholic Priest (who asked not to be identified in this report) to discuss a host of issues, including Syria – where increasingly Christians are being targeted with violence by Muslim terrorists affiliated with the FSA of “Free Syrian Army.”
There we examined a stack of reports from the internet detailing this same issue, including ghastly reports of Muslims beheading Christian women and children – which is unimaginable in its horror and brutality when you really think about it (source: Al-Qaeda affiliated group in Syria beheads the wrong man – https://groundreport.com/al-qaeda-affiliated-group-in-syria-issues-apology-for-beheading-the-wrong-man-but-refuses-to-apologize-for-killing-women-and-children/).
Some of this borderlines on the “demonic” (see video: Fighter cuts out and eat human heart from victim http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KXXUzWARtk).
In another case they killed a Christian woman and shoved a large crucifix down her throat https://twitter.com/SeyyedYazdi/status/331416462738722819/photo/1

After a few moments our conversation quickly turned to a “dark subject” within organized religion today – one dealing with “religious terrorism”, which, even today, is only talked about in hushed whispers and behind closed doors.
For centuries religion has been a source of extreme violence and terrorism, especially within Islam, particularly among the Shia and Sunni Muslims. One that today threatens to engulf the entire world in war if we are not extremely careful!
Religious terrorism can be defined as “the deliberate use of violence against civilians for religious ends.”As compared with ethnocentric or nationalist driven terrorism, religious terrorism is the oldest, most consistent and deadliest in terms of its current global reach and impact today.
To underscore this point, my friend noted that religious terrorism afflicts every major part of the world.
Religion is also a major source behind terrorism rising lethality – as evidenced by what is going on in Syria at the moment. This is something even the Vatican in Rome is starting to notice.
