‘Visa Temple’ Worship For Saving World From Economic Crisis

A temple of Lord Balaji at Chilkur, in Andhra Pradesh about 30km from Hyderabad, is popularly known as ‘Visa Temple.’ It is believed that anyone praying here is sure to get his Visa to US, the dream country of most of the Indian students aspiring for job or higher education abroad.

The chief priest of the temple, M.V.Sunderarajan, boasts that any one praying here is sure to get US visa.

The chief priest decided to hold a special puza (worship) at the temple after a devotee from US, who lost her job, requested him to perform puza to invoke the blessing of Lord Balaji for distressed people like her. Some 3000 Techies and IT students attended the puza held on 19th September’08, and chanted ‘Nrusimha Stotram’ a hymn to free the world from debts (arising from the financial crisis the world is facing).

The present economic downturn in US had unnerved Indian IT professionals and students alike. The IT professionals are in a constant threat of getting sacked whereas the students are panicked at the sluggish recruitment.

As per industrial sources, outsourcing of jobs from US has slowed down from the beginning of this financial year with a number of US companies downsizing their IT technology spending. B.V.Mohan Reddy, chairman of IT giant Infotech said, “This (loss of job) is inevitable in a country that serves scores of US companies bagging outsourcing revenues up to 1000 crores ($240 million USD).

So to redress the misgivings of the IT people, professional and students, and saving the world in general from economic crisis, the priest would further conduct a special puza on 21st September and we may still hope many more such puzas for the better financial atmosphere of the world!
