Do you have a strong vocabulary? It is estimated that there are a million some odd words in the English language. Some of those words are designed to reflect positive, inspiring emotions, and some are not intended to be uplifting or enlightening. Our vocabulary defines us as individuals. It is also an anchor for our thought processes. For instance, if you are someone who notices the blooms in life, and takes but a moment to marvel at its development, you are much more likely to have a strong appreciation for life itself, as opposed to that certain someone who uses pretty blossoms for target practice.
When we think, we use the words we are most familiar with and use regularly, not always reaching out for new words to think with. Some people have a very limited scope of the vocabulary words available to them, and therefore, cheat themselves out of the doors that could be opened with new thoughts, ideas, or concepts. Some people have a large scope of words memorized, and which words they choose to use more frequently determines the type of days they are going to have.
People who regularly use offensive, oppressive, demeaning words are very small, narrow-minded people. They are trapped in themselves, unwilling to break the chains of their own thought processes. More often than not, they are very miserable, and don’t mind sharing their discord with the world, never realizing that they are feeding the discord simply by expressing it.
It can be very challenging to find a niche to grow with when we encounter these individuals. Those of us who look to the stars and seek to dazzle the world with brilliance are sometimes not equipped with a vocabulary that can bring forth great things that might free the individuals we are trying to communicate with.
