Volunteers organizes cleanliness drive at Srinagar Airport

Srinagar, February 20 (Scoop News) – At the request of Director Srinagar International Airport Bhuwaniwala, a group of 85 Civil Defence volunteers organized a cleanliness drive at Srinagar International Airport today. The CD volunteers were led by Dy. Inspector General of Police Civil Defence, HG & Auxiliary Police, Kashmir, Mubarak Ahmed Ganai. Others present on the occasion were Deputy Controller CD, Rafiq Ahmed, Dy. Chief Warden & OSD with Div Com Kashmir,  Aamir Ali, Shabir Ahmed Khan ASI(M), besides Wardens Rahi Riyaz, Rafiq Ahmed Baba, Imtiyaz Ahmed Bhat, Javid Ahmed Tinda and entire staff of Airport, including Mohammed Shafi, PRO Jeet Singh and other senior officers. The Volunteers collected plastic bottles and polythene from main drop gate upto the terminal building.

During the cleanliness drive a special anti tobacco squad headed by Food Safety Officer, Shabir Ahmed Lone caught 15 people smoking at airport and a fine of Rs 1600 was recovered as fine from them. The team comprised of staff from Airport, Volunteers from J&K VHA headed by Project Manager AK Wani and District Coordinators Balbir Singh and Mohammed Saleem Malik. Director Airport was appreciated for having put up anti tobacco sign ages, at the airport and prohibiting smoking at the Srinagar International Airport.
