As Democratic co-frontrunner Senator Hillary Clinton and her campaign has stepped up the aggressive campaigns against Democratic co-frontrunner Senator Barack Obama, her rival in the Democratic races, it is revealed her trust amongst the Democratic voters. Now, a majority of those voters see Clinton as being dishonest. However, it is not surprising as polls from several weeks ago had revealed that Clinton’s negative rating was at an all time high.
This is a sure sign that Clinton’s candidacy is struggling to stay afloat. Recently, a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll revealed that Obama has been gaining ground over Clinton. Despite the best efforts by Clinton’s advisers to deal with the negative publicity against her, it does not seem to have taken affect. So far, campaign insiders went as far to say that the Bosnia trip stirred up quite a lot of controversy that has not fared well for Clinton at all.
The latest poll by Washington Post/ABC News revealed that only 39 percent of Americans deemed Clinton to be honest. Amongst the Democratic voters, Clinton is losing much trust and confidence. In short, the poll reveals that Democratic voters are losing trust, faith, and confidence in Clinton. In the Democratic primary race, this is much ammunition that Obama can use against Clinton.
The hardcore loyalists of Clinton have felt that the Bosnia story was not helping much at all. If the hardcore loyalists are feeling the same way, it does not bode well for Clinton, who has continued to remain in the race despite requests from former President Jimmy Carter and former vice-president Al Gore telling her to drop out. In a sense, Hillary Clinton could be in the same boat at former GOP hopeful Mike Huckabee. But, Clinton still has frontrunner status.
The Bosnia got worse when Clinton’s husband, former US President Bill Clinton joined in. Hillary had to tell Bill to stop.
Should Clinton manage to get the Democratic presidential nomination, these recent turn of events would be enough ammunition for GOP nominee Senator John McCain to slaughter her candidacy.
Several months ago at a private GOP donor event, they had outlined a five point plan for a Republican Party offensive against Barack Obama. The recent poll from Washington Post/ABC News further solidifies the confidence in the RNC, that Hillary Clinton is not a threat.
