Srinagar,August 04(Scoop News) – On the instructions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, two day’s disaster preparedness training for employees of J&K Muslim Wakf Board posted in various Shrines of Srinagar was held by the Divisional Disaster Management Authority in collaboration with Civil Defence, Fire & Emergency Services Deptt organised. The employees imparted training were deputed from Assar-i-Sharief Hazratbal, Makhdoom Sahib (RA), Peer Dastgir Sahib (RA), Syed Yaqoob Sahib (RA) Sonwar, Drugjan Mosque, Buchwara Mosque, Syed Asim Shah Qasim Shah, Khankah-e-Moulla, Shehri Kailashpora, Rup Reshi Habba Kadal, Jinab Sahib Soura, Malik Sahib Soura, Mirza Qamil Sahib Hawal, Gojwara mosque, Shah Niyamatullah Qadri, Nalbandpora Mosque. The training programme was also attended by some local volunteers.
The programme was inaugurated by Vice Chairman J&K Muslim Wakf Boardm, Prof. MY Qadri. Others who attended included Dy Inspector General of Police Civil Defence Mubarak Ahmed Ganai, Joint Director Fire Service RT Dubey, Dy Director Fire Services Khurshid Ahmed Bazaz, SP Hazratbal, Abdul Qayoom, OSD with Div Com Kashmir Aamir Ali, Deputy Controller CD Mohammed Rafiq, ASI (M) Shabir Ahmed Khan, Tehsildar North Srinagar Mohammed Bashir, Secretary Wakf Board, G.M. Rather. The resource persons were Prof Ruhila Hassan from Islamic University, Awantipora, Mohammed Akbar Asstt. Director Fire Service, Dr. IPS Bali, First Aid trainer.
During the training programme the participants were taught to extinguish fires and also explained basics about first aid in view of the vulnerability of the ancient shrines to fires. The participants appreciated the initiative and urged that regular trainings should be held. Later a mock drill was also held and certificates of participation were distributed amongst the participants.
