War veterans pray for approval of reunification bill

Equity  and reunification bills are two of the hotly discussed topics among the thousands of Fil-Am war veterans now based in America.

And they don’t see the reason why the equity bill should be shelved rather than be deliberated so that many of the ailing war veterans who would decide to go back home, taking at least a 100 percent of their pension, could benefit from it. But it seems that the U.S. Congress has no more appetite of pushing through with its deliberation for the time being, especially now the yuletide season is here.

However, most of them, particularly those based in Southern California, are not losing hope that one of these days the equity bill will be enacted into law. Well, all expectations are not lost anyway, after some concerned legislators have expressed support for the enactment of the Family Reunification Bill.

During snatches of conversations with some of the leaders of Fil-Am war veterans, they said that it would be a manna from heaven if the U.S. Congress will approve the latter bill. Better than nothing at all, most of them have expressed hope that the reunification bill will finally be passed. According to them, this will give their children vast opportunities when they come over to work in the United States.

They added that one of the advantages of passing this reunification bill is that it will generate more revenues for the federal government in terms of immigration fees. The new rates on immigration fees will no doubt spike the government’s need for more cash to keep the immigration department effective by hiring more people to help them do away with the huge backlogs at the moment.
