Rumored Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate Mark R. Warner announced on Sunday that he would not seek the job of Barack Obama’s running mate.
Warner, the former governor of Virginia, said he is going to focus his full attention on competing to fill Virginia’s vacant US Senate seat.
Since 1964, Virginians have not elected a Democratic senator.
The race for the vacant Senate seat has taken an interesting turn, Warner’s Republican opponent in the race is none other than Jim Gilmer, Warner’s predecessor as governor. Virginians now face the prospect of decided which of the ex-governors will be a senator
Warner also said that he is not going to assume any other task regarding the party..
