Ferrari’s former performance director Nigel Stepney is accused of leaking secrets to McLaren chief designer Mike Coughlan, who was found to have 780 pages of Ferrari documents in his house.
Evidences strongly suggest a possible manipulation of Michael Schumacher’s Car in his last two races. The race which began with Michael on top in drivers’ standings for the first time in the season and was leading the Japanese Grandprix comfortably when Schumer entered the pits and in the very next lap Michael’s car comes to a standstill with engine failure. At the time it was written off as an unfortunate event, but with a spy exposed recently, a possible sabotage cannot be ruled out. The race technically handed Alonso the championship, with a remote mathematical possibility for Michael in the final race. The final Brazilian race qualifying also was marred with technical problems for Michael, pushing him to 10th place in the grid.
The technical problems of this magnitude was never experienced by Ferrari throughout the season and all of a sudden in the crucial races all kinds of unexplained problems start sprouting in Schumi’s cars and no problem at all for Felipe Massa’s car. A good investigation may bring out the truth in the technical problems Michael faced in the final two races.
If Renault and Alonso benefitted from the "technical problems" of Michaels car in last season, it was McLaren and Alonso taking advantage with the spy in Ferrari, this season. The common person in the list of beneficiaries is none other than Alonso. A thorough investigation may reveal more shocking news that may shake the Formula one world for years to come.
Lack of evidences may be the biggest stumbling block in investigations but hidden truths may come out some day. Let time bring out the real truth and the culprits.
